Troy H. Myers, Jr. is a shareholder with the firm. Mr. Myers joined Icard Merrill and has practiced with the firm continuously since 1979. The emphasis of his practice since 1979 has been on matters relating to immigration law, federal and state income and estate tax, business law, offshore organizations, foreign and domestic asset protection, and estate planning.

Since 1994, a substantial part of Mr. Myers’ practice has been in asset protection planning for both United States citizens and residents, and clients who are not United States citizens or residents. He is active in representing businesses and business owners, in the formation and structuring of business entities including corporations, limited liability companies, and general and limited partnerships.

Mr. Myers is active in representing foreign persons purchasing and selling real estate in Florida, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws. In 2000, Mr. Myers became the head of Icard Merrill's immigration department. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and frequently participates in immigration seminars. He has achieved extensive knowledge in all areas of immigration law.

Mr. Myers practiced law for four years in Florence, Alabama, and left practice in 1978 to attend the graduate law program at the University of Florida, receiving the Master of Laws (LL.M. taxation) degree in 1979.

Mr. Myers is a 1974 graduate of Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. During law school, he participated in legal organizations including the law review where he was an Executive and an Associate Editor. He graduated from Texas A & M University in 1967. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967 until 1971, and was discharged as a captain in 1971.
