	Charles J. Bartlett is a shareholder of Icard Merrill and concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, real estate and business law, with an emphasis on the representation of small to medium-sized businesses. Mr. Bartlett has practiced with the firm since 1984 and served as President of the firm from 1987 through 1998. He has received the "AV" rating, the highest rating available, from Martindale Hubbell, which is recognized as the most respected source of authoritative and dependable information about members of the legal community and reflects confidential ratings by other lawyers and the judiciary. Mr. Bartlett has been actively involved in both the Florida Bar and the Sarasota County Bar Association, as well as a member of community, religious and social organizations. He served two terms as a member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar and has also served as a member of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and numerous other Bar committees. He has held office in the Sarasota County Bar Association, including four terms as a member of the Board of Directors and a term as President in 1993-1994. Mr. Bartlett has served as a trustee of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Board or as an officer of other civic and non-profit organizations. Mr. Bartlett is a long-time resident of Sarasota, having graduated from both Riverview High School and Manatee Community College. He received his undergraduate degree with high honors from Florida State University in 1976. In 1979, Mr. Bartlett received his law degree from the University of Florida with high honors. While at the University of Florida, he was a member and senior editor of the University of Florida Law Review and a published author.
